Does the moon mover farther away from the earth during month cycle?

When the moon is revolving around the earth. Say your standing in California and its a full moon one. Three days later when the moon has revolved around the earth would it have been farther/closer to california then it had been when the moon was full. sorry if this is a bad question im just confused and need info please.
