What's wrong with this computer!?

I have a compaq presario CQ50 laptop running on windows vista and i have two major problems with it, For one it overheats very very fast, in about 30 minutes i gets really hot and you can barely touch the left side of the computer without burning yourself, and sometimes its gets soo overheated that it just force shuts down on it own and by the way, the fan is very loud if that helps. The other problem i have with my computer is that the screen flickers very often and makes it almost impossible to view the webpage or just the screen in general and i have to keep pivoting the screen to get it at the right angle where it doesnt flicker, and ive already tried system restore and left my computer completely blank and factory and the flickering has seemed to have have stopped, but this has happened before, Please help.
